tomorrow (august 4th) is brooke's 30th birthday!! share a funny story....send him warm wishes....or give him a call, he'd appreciate the thoughts, even miles away!
30? I thought this was 29... dang, dude, you're old...
Let's see... going down my parents' basement steps in a sleeping bag... getting punched in the head by Quincy... "bonus lane" passing of cars on the shoulder on Winton Road... all good stories... but...
Probably my favorite Brooke story ever would be one of the great Thursday night post-band-practice hangouts at Skyline. The clumsy waitress spills Brooke's Mountain Dew all over the table... much of said Mountain Dew winds up all over Brooke's lap...
The flustered waitress officially panics, and says something to the effect of "Oh, no, I'm so sorry... would you like me to get you another one?"
Brooke calmly replies, "No, it's alright, if I get thirsty I'll just suck it out of my pants." Truly a quote for the ages.
A lot of love and a great deal of humor entered our lives 30 years ago on Aug. 4! There are just too many stories to tell. He still makes me laugh like no one else.
Thanks, everyone, for the posts, thoughts, and phonecalls. We took a great day trip across the Puget Sound (via the ferry boat...Brooke's favorite thing in the world) to Port Townsend, WA. I think a post is soon to come....
Mom T: Isn't that the truth...I am so glad you had him! I can't even begin to imagine life without Brooke. You raised an amazing son, who is constantly keeping me entertained with jokes, stuffed animals coming to life, new adventures, and just daily living! There is never a dull day with him around.
Scott: Thanks for the shared stories...although I'm sad to have missed those crazy times back in the 'rock band' days, I feel like I know the stories so well, I feel like I was there!
